We didn't plan to be bid writers - but we're glad we are.
Like most people in this industry, we didn’t grow up dreaming of writing tenders.
George stumbled into bid writing fresh from a dead-end job in a contact centre — and stayed because he realised something important: we’re writing the future. Every good bid opens doors — for companies, for people, for communities.
Becky found her way here after working in national and local government, and the charity sector, because she loved the challenge, the structure, the mix of logic and language — and, of course, working side-by-side with George to help organisations and people grow.
Together, we built Grammatology∞ to make the process better — for clients, teams and the evaluators reading the work.
What began as a profession became a purpose: helping good organisations win the work they deserve.

Becky brings a blend of communications, leadership and organisational development experience.
She’s led multidisciplinary teams on complex, high-stakes projects and specialises in helping organisations build confidence, structure and resilience.
She loves helping people grow — and loves the challenge of turning chaos into clarity.
Outside work, she’s usually in the garden, planning a family ride, or plotting what George is going to cook next weekend.
George Bartley — Director, Consultant & Writer
George has spent more than twenty years leading, writing and reviewing high-value bids across public and commercial sectors.
He’s helped clients secure more than £1BN in contracts, trained hundreds of writers, and shaped how teams across the UK approach strategic storytelling.
He’s endlessly curious about how ideas become words — and how words change outcomes.
Away from the desk, he’s happiest on a gravel bike, in the kitchen, or convincing himself this will be the week his inbox stays under control.

We’ve got a 13-year-old son who keeps us humble, a black cat who ignores us both, and a labradoodle puppy.
We ride gravel bikes, we love good food, good conversation, and the satisfaction of finishing something hard and done well.
